As a Foundation that values research, we examined factors of perseverance, persistence, and grit and their correlation with achievement. In our research of various studies, we found that the personality trait of grit, defined as the tendency to pursue long-term goals with sustained zeal and hard work, predicts achievement in academic, vocational, and avocational domains (Duckworth, Peterson, Matthews, & Kelly, 2007; Duckworth & Quinn, 2009; Duckworth, Quinn, & Seligman, 2009). We also found that students’ perseverance must be accompanied by students’ beliefs in their own academic capabilities or self-efficacy. “The development of such beliefs should therefore be responsibly nurtured by caregivers and school practitioners.” (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2025 APA, all rights reserved).
Rhythm Reach is committed to our initiative of empowering youth and children and providing access to higher education. One of our commitments is giving back through our Scholarship program. Last year, we launched our first scholarship night and gave 30K to 3 students demonstrating perseverance, persistence, grit and passion. As the foundation grows, we look forward to partnering with schools to develop a youth apprenticeship program and mentorship to further our mission.
